Different Databases = Different Information
Why does Corgan Library have so many databases?
Different databases provide access to different kinds of information. Some databases contain articles from only one kind of source such as the Historical New York Times database. Other databases, like CredoReference, provide background information on many topics.
Mostly, databases contain information specific to certain disciplines, or fields of study. Depending on your major here at King's, you will come to rely on certain databases and use them often, while others may not be appropriate for any of the coursework you take.
Be sure you know the difference between the database name and the database provider that hosts the database. For example, EBSCOhost is the name of the database provider that hosts Academic Search Complete but it also provides access to many other databases
