How Do I Choose a Database?
Corgan Library has access to many databases. At first, it can be difficult to know which one is the right one for your specific information need. The parameters of your assignment will determine the best databases to choose.
Do you need background information on a topic?
- Credo Reference contains online reference books and background information on many subjects
- CQ Researcher is good for background information on contemporary, controversial topics
Are you looking for articles from either magazines, newspapers or journals, but do not yet have a focused topic?
- Academic Search Premier is a good general starting point to find articles on most topics
Is there a Research Guide for the course or for the subject you are researching?
- Research Guides are created by the librarians, to direct you to the best databases for your course or for researching a particular subject
