A magistrate reads out the sentence to the crowd:
"In the name of our blessed and beneficent prince and lord of Bergstein, all within the sound of my voice give your attention. It has been declared by law and justice that these people have been found guilty of witchcraft and many wicked deeds.
They have denied our God, the Almighty, and his Son our Savior, Jesus Christ, and instead have turned themselves, body and soul, into servants of Satan. They are idolaters, blasphemers, heretics, and murderers. Therefore they have been condemned to death by being burned alive at the stake. Done this day in Bergstein, in the Year of Our Lord, 1628."
