You deny that you are a witch. You say that you have had nothing to do with witchcraft. You used to see her dog run wild, and you had to scare it off your property, but you did not kill it. You know nothing of her cows, you have enough to do with your own. She’s just a crazy old woman who is always complaining. 

"Nonetheless," the judge in the middle responds, "despite your denial, these are serious charges which we must investigate for the safety of the community. If you confess your witchcraft now, it will go easier on you. Are you a witch?"
