Our MISSIONThe theatre program is designed to help students foster the craft of theatre. This is the first step towards graduate school, televeision, or the professional theatre. An emphasis is placed on familiarizing students with the total operation of the theatre performance: acting, directing, scenic design, lighting designe, costume design, and stage management. With these areas in mind, our program offers students to tracts from which to choose - acting/directing, or design./technical. |

One of the first speech teachers explained to the dean why it would be much too difficult to stage Shakespeare at a small college without the necessary facilities and trained student personnel. The distinguished and charming cleric listened respectfully without a word of interjection during the detailed 15-minute explanation. He then smiled and his eyes twinkled and he said, quietly and eagerly, "Well, let's do it anyway." Amen. |
