KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS BAPTIST BIBLE
CLARKS SUMMIT -- The King's College softball team improved to 25-5 on
the year with a doubleheader sweep of Baptist Bible College Tuesday in
Clarks Summit.
King's won the first game 8-0 in six innings, then captured the nightcap
12-1 in five innings.
In the opener, Nikki Kotula pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven
batters while improving to 8-2 on the year. Kotula was also big at the
plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Abbey Knoblauch was
2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. While Cassy Shiffer was also 2-for-3.
In the second game, Justine Maggio led the way with a 4-for-4 showing
while Mari Valonis went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI. Kaitlin
Liszewski was 1-for-2 with two RBI while Caitlin McAndrew was 1-for-1
with an RBI. Kelsey Shreaves improved to 9-1 with the pitching victory,
allowing one run and four hits in four innings. Nicole Conger pitched
one inning of scoreless relief for the Lady Monarchs.
King's will travel to face Keystone College Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
