KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS WESLEY
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College
softball team posted a doubleheader sweep of Wesley College Tuesday at
Betzler Fields.
King's, which improved to 9-3 on the year, won the first game 9-4 before
capturing the second 8-0 in five innings.
In the opener ,Abbey Knoblauch went 3-for-4 with a triple., two RBI and
scored two runs. Justine Maggio was 2-for-2 with two RBI while Mari
Valonis went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Cassy Shiffer chipped in with
two hits and an RBI.
Nikki Kotula picked up the win, allowing five hits and striking out 10
batters.
In the nightcap, Knoblauch was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and three
RBI. Julie Bidwell went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI while Rebecca
Loring was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, three runs, and an RBI.
Kelsey Shreaves picked up the win with a five-inning three-hitter while
striking out two batters.
King's will host Lycoming Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Betzler Fields.
