KOTULA NAMED TO ECAC ALL-STAR TEAM

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College sophomore softball standout Nikki Kotula has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southern Regional All-Star Team as a first-team selection.

The Pittston Area High School product was named to the ECAC team as a utility player.

Kotula finished the year with a 13-4 pitching record with two saves, including a 2.04 earned run average and 124 strikeouts in 124 innings of work. Kotula also served as a designated player when not pitching and ranked second on the Lady Monarch squad with a .351 (46-131) average with 11 doubles, one home run, 24 RBI, 31 runs, and a 458 slugging percentage. She hit safely in 30 of the 40 games she played in during the year.

Kotula, who was a first-team All-Freedom Conference selection, helped lead King's to a 34-12 record, a sixth straight conference title, and the program's sixth consecutive NCAA Division III National Tournament berth.
