KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS
WITH MISERICORDIA
DALLAS -- The King's College softball team posted a 13-4 win in the
second game of a doubleheader to forge a split with College Misericordia
Tuesday in Dallas.
With the split, King's stands at 23-7 on the year. Misericordia, which won
the first game 5-2, is 19-9 this season.
In the nightcap, Kelley Vaxmonsky was 4-for-5 with two runs scored and
four RBI. Stacey Preambo was 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and three
RBI. Cassy Shiffer was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and three runs
scored. Ashley Sullivan and Nikki Kotula added two hits each. Kotula
picked up the win in relief of starter Nicole Conger. Kotula pitched five
and one-third inning, striking out eight batters and allowing one run.
In the opener, Kotula was 3-for-4 with a run scored while Shiffer and
Justine Maggio posted two hits each. Megan Adams took the loss, allowing
four runs in one and two-thirds innings. Sarah Genewski pitched the final
four and one-third innings, allowing one run while striking out three
batters.
