KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS E-TOWN, IMPROVE TO 16-4
ELIZABETHTOWN -- The King's College softball team improved to 16-4 on the
year with a doubleheader sweep of host Elizabethtown College Wednesday in
Elizabethtown.
King's, which won by scores of 6-2 and 12-3 in six innings to post its
ninth consecutive win of the season.
In the opener, Sarah Genewski picked up the pitching win, scattering seven
hits while striking out five batters. Genewski also aided her own cause by
going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. Kristin Brady was 3-for-4 with a
double, while Nikki Kotula went 2-for-4 with an RBI double. Stacey Preambo
hit a two-run home run while Mari Valonis has an RBI double.
In the nightcap, Kotula picked up the win, allowing five hits and five
walks while striking out eight batters. Annie Drimones led King's
offensive with a 3-for-3 effort. Brady was 2-for-4 with three RBI while
Mari Valonis was 2-for-4 with a two-run triple. Preambo and Kate Shiffer
were both 2-for-4 with an RBI. Kotula was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
King's will next host Drew University Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Betzler
Fields.
