KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS PAIR ON FINAL DAY OF SALISBURY TOURNEY
WILKES-BARRE --
The King's College softball team split its final two games on the
second day of the Salisbury University Invitational Saturday in Salisbury,
MD.
King's closed out its southern swing with an overall record of 10-3.
Against York, Annie Drimones was 2-for-3 at the plate. Leanne Harvey went
1-for-4 but belted a solo home run in the fifth inning. Kristin Brady was
1-for-3 with a triple and three RBI while Stacey Preambo and Sarah
Genewski added one hit each.
Megan Adams suffered the pitching loss, lasting one and two-thirds innings
and allowing four earned runs. Genewski tossed 3 and two-thirds and
yielded four runs. Nikki Kotula pitched one and two-thirds scoreless
innings and struck out two batters.
Against Virginia Wesleyan, Kotula pitched a complete-game three hitter,
striking out five batters while going 3-for-4 at the plate. Drimones
was 2-for-3 at the plate; Preambo was 1-for-3 with an RBI; Kate Shiffer
was 1-for-4 with two RBI; while Cassy Shiffer was 1-for-4.
