KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS PCS
FT. PIERCE, FLA --
The King's College softball team improved to 3-1 on the year as the
Lady Monarchs posted a doubleheader sweep of Philadelphia College of the
Sciences. The Lady Monarchs won the first game 12-3, the posted a 9-6
victory in the nightcap.
In the opener. Mari Valonis led the way by going 2-for-3 with a home run
and five RBI. Nikki Kotula was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Kristin Brady was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Kate Shiffer was 1-for-3 with
an RBI double. Ashley Sullivan was 1-for-2 with a double, Cassy Shiffer
was 1-for-2 with an RBI while Justine Maggio added a base hit. Megan
Adams picked up the pitching victory with a four-hitter while striking out
three batters.
In the second game, Leanne Harvey went 3-for-3 with an RBI while Kotula
was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kate Shiffer added a base hit and an RBI.
Megan Adams picked up the win in relief of starter Nicole Conger. Sarah
Genewski pitched the final two innings to earn the save.
