KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS IN SEASON OPENER
FT. PIERCE, FLA

The King's College softball team opened the 2005 season with a
doubleheader split with Pitt-Bradford Sunday in Ft. Pierce, Fla.
King's won the first game 7-4 before dropping the nightcap 5-4.
In the opener, Stacey Preambo went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a home run
while Kelley Vaxmonsky was 3-for-4. Cassy Shiffer was 2-for-3 with a
double and two RBI while Kristin Brady added a base hit.
Winning pitcher Sarah Genewski allowed two earned runs with six strikeouts
in seven innings. She also helped her own cause with a two-run double.
Shiffer, Vaxmonsky, and Annie Drimones all added base hits for the Lady
Monarchs.
In the second game, Preambo was 2-for-3 while Nikki Kotula went 2-for-4
with an RBI double. Kotula was also the hard-luck loser in the
circle, allowing just one earned run while striking out nine batters.
