KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH LYNCHBURG AND SALISBURY
SALISBURY, MD --
The King's College softball team split a pair of games on the second
day of the Seagull Invitational at Salisbury University.
King's defeated Lynchburg 10-6 before falling 4-2 to NCAA runner-up
Salisbury 4-2. The Lady Monarchs finished the tournament with a 2-2
record and now stand at 9-2 overall.
Against Lynchburg, Mari Valonis was 3-for-3 with five RBI, and a home runs
wile scoring a pair of runs. Kelley Vaxmonsky was11-for-4 with two
RBI. Nikki Kotula picked up the pitching win relief of starter
Nicole Conger. Kotula pitched 4.1 innings and allowed three runs
while striking out six batters.
In the loss to Salisbury, Linda Manarchuk was 2-for-3 and scored a run
while Vaxmonsky was 1-for-4 with a run. Maria Zangardi was 2-for-2
with two RBI and a double. Sarah Genewski (4-1) suffered her first
loss of the year, allowing four runs, two which were earned, while
striking out two batters.
