KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS PAIR AT SALISBURY
SALISBURY, MD --
The King's College softball team went 1-1 after the first day of the
Seagull Invitational at Salisbury University.
The Lady Monarchs defeated York 10-2 in the opener but fell to Virginia
Wesleyan 4-3. With the split, King's stands at 8-1 on the year.
Against York, Stacey Preambo was 3-for-3 with five RBI, including two home
runs. Cassy Shiffer was -for-2 with a home run and two RBI.
Sarah Genewki pick dup the pitching win, tossing a complete-game three
hitter.
Against Virginia Wesleyan, the game was tied 1-1 before the Lady Monarchs
surrendered three runs in the top of the sixth. King's would score two in
the bottom half but fell short.
Kristin Brady was 2-for-4, including a solo home run. Maria Zangardi
went 2-for-4 while Kelley Vaxmonsky was 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Megan Adams took the loss, allowing four runs and striking out three
batters prior to being relieved in the fifth.
