LADY MONARCH SOFTBALL SWEEPS DAVIS & ELKINS

FT. PIERCE, FLA -- The King's softball team improved to 5-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Davis & Elkins College during their spring trip in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

The Lady Monarchs won the first game 12-0 while taking the nightcap 12-3.

In the first game, Megan Adams picked up the pitching win with a three-hit shutout. Offensively, King's was paced by Maria Zangardi who was 3-for-4 with a triple. Linda Manarchuck was 2-for-4 while Mari Valonis was 1-for-1.

In the second contest, Kelly Vaxmonsky was 3-for-4 with four RBI while Tiffany Stead went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Stacey Preambo was 3-for-3 with a triple and double while Maria Zangardi had a pair of hits and two RBI. Christen Piccola was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Nicole Conger was the winner, allowing seven hits with four strikeouts in five innings of work.
