KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS NEUMANN
FT. PIERCE, FL -- The King's College softball team
picked two more wins in Florida as the Lady Monarchs swept Neumann College
15-0 and 13-4 Thursday in Ft. Pierce. King's improved to 4-2 with the
sweep.
In th opener, Suzanne Smith tossed a two-hitter
while striking out six batters to pick up the win. Maria Zangardi was
3-for-4 with four RBI, including a three-run home run. Stacey Preambo was
2-for-5 with two RBI and a home run. Smith was 2-for-3 at the plate with
an RBI double, while Jess Harvey added a solo home run for the Lady
Monarchs.
In the nightcap, Melissa Boyda, Sarah Genewski, and
Meghan Adams all pitched during the King's win with Genewskipicking up the
decision.
Zangardi again led the way with a 4-for-4 effort with four more RBI's
pushing across eight runs in the twinbill. Linda Manarchuck was 3-for-4
with a triple while Harvey went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run. Kim Roman
was 2-for-3 with two RBI while Genewski went 2-for-2 with a two-run
double. Cassy Shiffer was also 2-for-3 for the Lady Monarchs.
