KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS CEDARVILLE
COCOA BEACH, FLA -- The King's College softball team improved to 4-0
on the season as the Lady Monarchs posted a doubleheader sweep of
Cedarville College Monday in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
The Lady Monarchs won the first game 10-3 before capturing the nightcap
3-0.
In the opener, junior hurler Kelsey Shreaves tossed a five-hitter,
allowing one earned run with three strikeouts. At the plate she helped
her own cause by going 1-for-4 with one run scored. Abbey Knoblauch led
the Lady Monarchs offensively by going 3-for-4 with an RBI and three
runs scored.
Meaghan Galvin was 2-for-4 with two ruins and an RBI. Gretchen Tholen
was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, Kasey Corbett was 2-for-2 with an
RBI while Leanne Harvey was also 2-for-2. Becky Loring was 1-for-3 with
two RBI while Annie Drimones finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
In the second game, Sophomore Lindsay Hoerner tossed a complete-game one
hitter to pick up the win while also going 2-for-3 at the plate. Loring
was 2-for-4 with two RBI while Christie Parfitt was also 2-for-4.
Knoblauch was 1-for-3 with an RBI while Drimones, Harvey, and
Jacquie O'Brien added one hit each.
