Judicial Process

Below please find important reports/forms that assist the Residence Life Staff in dealing with policy violation and disciplinary situations promptly and appropriately. When submitting information, please be as accurate and descriptive as possible. Also, please follow the breakdown below of guidelines for these forms to ensure proper follow-up.

Residence Life Policy Violation (Short Form)
To be submitted following violation of a Residence Life policy. These violations are of a less severe nature ranging from failing to adhere to quiet hours to failure to attend community/floor meeting. These violations are sent directly to the Assistant Director of Residence Life who will issue a decision on the violation. Decisions may include a warning or a warning and a fine.
Appeal of the decision can be made to the Director of Residence Life. Questions from staff regarding the write-up of a violation can be directed to a Professional Staff member.

College Policy Violation (Judicial Tracking Form)

To be submitted following violation of a more serious College policy/policies. Each individual involved with the violation(s) will require a separate form. This is due to the fact that violations might differentiate from person to person. For example, one individual might have simply an underage - alcohol violation while another might have an underage - alcohol violation, a guest responsibility violation and a hindering college official violation. These violations are processed through the Assistant Director of Residence Life who then forwards them to the Associate Vice-President for Student Affairs. Questions from staff regarding the write-up of a violation(s) may be directed to a Professional Staff Member. Students will be required to meet with the Associate Vice-President to discuss their case and make a decision as to how he/she will have the case heard. The Associate VP will then issue a decision on the case.

College Policy Violation Narrative (Judicial Report)
To be submitted with the Judicial Tracking form following violation of a more serious College policy/policies. Judicial Reports are processed through the Assistant Director of Residence Life who then forwards them to the Associate Vice-President for Student Affairs. Questions from staff regarding the write-up of a violation(s) may be directed to a Professional Staff Member.
