Chris Alfieri, observing a hockey game

Chris Alfieri, is a Mass Communications/Media Technologies  senior, at King’s. Chris works in a unique pre-job experience at the new Northeastern Pennsylvania Civic Arena, located near the school. The arena is the home of the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins Hockey Team. This experience allows Chris to understand what work and preparation occurs behind the scenes.  He has many assignments at the arena; one of which is assuring that the layout of the game plan goes smoothly. Also, he acts as an intermediary between the Penguins team members and opposing team, making sure both have statistics and memos of each other. This is the part Chris enjoys the most about the job experience because he enjoys playing and watching the sport. Chris got the opportunity to work at the arena, because of the reputation the Mass Communications/Media Technologies Department has. The Mass Communications/Media Technologies Department at King’s sets itself apart from other schools by teaching principles and values in their classes to ready students for the job market, as well as life.
