King’s
College seeks an Assistant Professor of Mass Communications in Journalism to
begin August 2015. A Ph.D. is required
for a tenure-track position or a technical specialist position is available if
the successful candidate possesses a master’s degree and substantial full-time journalism
experience. The successful candidate will support the Holy
Cross mission and Catholic identity of the College.
Courses
to be taught include Introduction to Writing for Mass Communications, Broadcast
Newswriting, Sports Journalism, Multi-Platform Storytelling, Electronic News Gathering
& Field Reporting, Politics & the Media, Oral Communication and other
courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidate should demonstrate a commitment to
excellent teaching at the undergraduate level, advising student media, and
maintaining a program of research. Other
duties include advising students, serving on committees, and participating in
college, department, and community programs and events.
