POSITION: Manager –
Financial Planning & Analysis
CLASSIFICATION: Administrative / Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Business Office
REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President for
Business & Administrative Affairs
ESSENTIAL
ELEMENTS: JOB FUNCTION: Manages long-range planning and forecasting
process for the College. Assists with
the administration of College wide activities related to budgeting and
financial management, operations and programs.
Provides assistance with overseeing budgetary controls, provides
budget/financial analysis and planning, and works closely to align such
initiatives with the strategic goals of the College.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
1.
Develop,
implement and maintain an effective long-range planning and analysis capability
that will provide Sr. Leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish
goals and measure performance
2.
Develop
Divisional and Program profitability analysis
3.
Manage and
communicate Financial and Operational performance trends, historical and
forecasted, using appropriate metrics and reporting process
4.
Develop and
execute processes to allow for routine analytical review of the College’s
Financial and Operational performance, leveraging business unit analytical
resources and tools
5.
Analyze new
projects and programs for continuity and profitability
6.
Manage special ad
hoc projects
7.
Maintain the
accuracy and effectiveness of the College’s accounting consolidation and
closing process and treasury operations through analytical review and trend
analysis
8.
Manage relations
with rating agencies
9.
Prepare
presentations in support of Board meetings, Sr. Leadership meetings and various
strategic committees of the College
10. Support the College’s strategic business planning
process
11. Support treasury operations
NON-ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
1.
Performs other
duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
AND TRAINING:
Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting or Finance required, a CPA certificate / MBA
preferred. Minimum of 10 years significant
accounting experience, preferably in a college or university environment, and strong
professional communication and writing skills.
Experience in developing and/or managing computerized financial
management systems is essential.
WORKING
CONDITIONS: Typical office working conditions.
Finger dexterity, ability to sit for long periods of time.
