TITLE:                                                Preventive Maintenance Mechanic #3

GRADE:                                             29, $14.18/hour

WORK SCHEDULE:                                    Sunday-Thursday

8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Overtime Required

Work Schedule subject to change depending on the needs of the college.

DEPARTMENT:                                Buildings and Grounds

POSITION REPORTS TO:               Maintenance Manager

JOB FUNCTION:  Responsible for the upkeep and preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery on Campus, including all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.      Responsible for the planning, implementing, organizing and the preventive maintenance of all HVAC systems in all college facilities.

2.      Work with maintenance crews when emergency situations arise.

3.      Assist in setting up for various college functions.

4.      Responsible for snow removal and ice maintenance during inclement weather situations.

NONESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

1.      Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

Must possess knowledge and ability to perform work on high and low voltage electricity, high and low pressure boilers, HVAC equipment and Metasys type energy management equipment.  High School Diploma, Technical Diploma, and/or Trade School, and have at least 5 years experience in the HVAC trade.  Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written directions.  Ability to get along with others, ability to read and write, thoroughness, dependability, cleanliness.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Some duties require lifting, bending, climbing steps and working from ladders.  Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
