POSITION VACANCY
POSITION: Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Facility Coordinator.
CLASSIFICATION: Fulltime: 12 Months (Exempt)
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
REPORTS TO: Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation
JOB FUNCTION: Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the women’s varsity basketball program. On floor coaching, academic counseling, scouting, recruiting, media and community relations, game coaching, practice organization, staff supervision. Manage the scheduling of Scandlon and Recreational Gym in conjunction with Conference and Events.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
1.
Manage
all administrative aspects of the program including team travel, scheduling of
games and coordination of practice times with Men’s Basketball team in Scandlon Gymnasium
2.
Actively
recruit qualified student athletes that meet academic standards and profile of
the college; Identify potential student athletes through off campus recruitment
and coordination of on campus visits
3.
Create
and sustain an atmosphere that promotes academic and personal growth resulting
in overall success of student athletes
4.
Identify,
recruit and supervise assistant coaches
5.
Assist
in preparation of yearly operating budgets with ability to adhere to an
approved operating budget
6.
Organize
fundraising activities that support team operating expenses
7.
Support
initiatives of the Monarch Athletic Fund (MAF)
8.
Demonstrate
an understanding of and ability to support the mission of the college
9.
Possess
strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage
multiple tasks
10.
Function
as a collegial team member by working with all members of the King’s College
community, including a willingness to participate in campus events and
committees
11.
Adhere
to all NCAA and conference rules and regulations
12.
Willingness
to work evenings and weekends as needed
OTHER ELEMENTS:

Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation

Computer

Demonstrated
coaching and/or playing experience
4.
Ability
to lift 50 pounds without an issue
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Bachelor
Degree from an accredited college or university (minimum credential)
2.
Unqualified
background check (clearance)
3.
Valid
United States Driver’s License
4.
