POSITION: General Grounds/Maintenance/Custodial Worker

GRADE: 25

DEPARTMENT: Facilities/Grounds

LOCATION: Campus/Athletic fields

POSITION REPORTS TO: Grounds Manager

JOB FUNCTION: This position involves performance of necessary work related to basic grounds work (cutting grass/weeding, etc). Basic custodial work (Sweeping, Mopping, etc). Basic maintenance work (painting, moving furniture, etc)

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

1. Performs grounds work as assigned by manager.

2. Works independently or with others as assigned.

3. Performs light housekeeping duties such as dust chairs, tables and room furnishings.

4. Performs custodial duties, maintenance duties when assigned.

5. Removes snow when necessary at the entrance to buildings and pathway.

6. Sets up and removes furniture as required for college social activities and other related functions.

NON-ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

1. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to get along with others, ability to read and write, thoroughness, dependability, and cleanliness, some building cleaning and maintenance experience are required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Some duties require lifting, bending and climbing steps and ladders. Lifting requirements up to 75 lbs. on occasion.
