POSITION:                                        Director of International Student Recruitment

 

CLASSIFICATION:                          Administrative 12 Month

POSITION REPORTS TO:               Vice President for Enrollment Management

 

JOB FUNCTION:

The Director of International Student Recruitment will spearhead King’s College’s international admissions and enrollment process. The Director will develop and lead a coordinated and collaborative campus approach to implementing the strategies in King’s College’s strategic enrollment plan to further expand the enrollment of undergraduate and graduate international students.

 

The Director will develop and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders inside and outside King’s College and will be responsible for the supervision of administrative and support staff, fiscal management and human resource functions; providing leadership and direction, planning and developing operations and accountability for the allocation of departmental resources and program results.  Working closely with the vice president for enrollment management, undergraduate and graduate admission offices, and key academic and administrative campus partners, the Director will effectively market the mission, academic programs and student experience of King’s College

 

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

1.       Enhance and update the Office of International Student Recruitment strategic plan for the achievement of international student enrollment goals.

2.       Demonstrated experience for establishing and implementing key strategies which significantly grew academically qualified, international student enrollment. 

3.       Review applications for admission and assist with yielding qualified international students.

4.       Become the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for King’s College and handle all new international students’ visa process via SEVIS.

5.       Conduct market surveys and analysis to identify target markets for international student recruitment.

6.       Recruit, develop and retain a high quality international student body at King’s College that supports King’s College’s admission and student retention goals with the parameters of the College’s mission and vision.

7.       Create a dynamic, productive team culture that delivers strong client service and personal attention to students and parents.

8.       Work collaboratively with our partner that provides an intensive English language program for students on the King’s College campus. 

9.       Develop and supervise staff to ensure use of best practices to achieve department goals.

10.    Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships within the international community.

  1. Assess internal and external data and trends to assist in the development of the planning and budgeting processes as well as provide strategic adjustments in ongoing international student admissions, enrollment initiatives.
  2. Be knowledgeable of professional and ethical guidelines in enrollment management and financial aid to ensure compliance with university and state rules and regulations.
  3. Participate in campus administrative committees.
  4. Oversee assessment and outcomes reporting for the department.

15.    Develop and coordinate processes for responding to questions and concerns from international students related to immigration issues, application, registration, fees, residence and other College services.

16.    Work closely with and regularly communicate with academic departments, Admissions Office, Study Abroad Office, Student Affairs, and other departments to fulfill enrollment goals and ensure a smooth transition for new students.

17.    Travel to key areas domestic and abroad to recruit international students and form partnerships with appropriate agencies. 

18.  Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment Management

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

 

1.      Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Degree Preferred.

 

2.      Strong knowledge of SEVIS.  Past experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) or Primary Designated School Official (PDSO).

 

3.      Progressive experience working as an Administrator in an Admissions Environment.

 

4.      Knowledge of admissions strategies and procedures.

 

5.      Evidence of strong orientation toward working as a team.

 

6.      Progressive International Recruitment Experience Required.
