Exit Interview

An exit interview is normally conducted by the Human Resources Department for non-faculty employees who are resigning employment. The interview should take place prior to the employee's last day of work. The interview is conducted for the following reasons:

1.      To give the employee an opportunity to discuss freely his/her reasons for separation of employment.

2.      To obtain information and views which may help the College make improvements in policies, procedures and working conditions, and reduce turnover.

3.      To return any College owned property.

4.      To provide the employee with information about his/her benefits.  The following points will be discussed during the exit interview:

·        Reason for separation

·        Status of insurance and medical coverage

·        Retirement plan

·        Wages due and last pay date

·        Return all College property

·        Vacation pay accrued but not taken

·        COBRA information

·        Employee questions and comments

If an employee is unable to report to the Human Resources Department for an exit interview, a representative of the Human Resources Department may conduct the interview by phone.
