How does the King's
Distance Learning Program work?
The King's College Distance Learning Program provides convenience and access
to education while maintaining the same high standards of its traditional
instruction in a small college setting. Students will be provided with the
same outcomes assessment and feedback that on-campus students receive.
Courses for the Distance Learning Program are offered through College
Discovery, an instructional program which makes college courses available to
qualified high school students. Students who wish to participate in the
Distance Learning Program must first meet the requirements for the College
Discovery Program. They must also have access to a location to which King's
has agreed to send the course.
Why choose the King's
College Distance Learning Program?
King's College has received national acclaim for its Core Curriculum and
Assessment programs from U.S. News and World Report, Money Magazine, and
Barron's Best Buys in College Education. The publications have recognized
King's academic programs, the dedication of its innovative faculty, and its
tuition value.
What kind of
equipment does my school need to have to participate in a distance learning
course with King's College?
Your school should have a distance learning classroom
that is equipped with video cameras, television monitors, and microphones.
At King's we deliver our courses through equipment manufactured by the
Polycom Corporation via I.P. or ISDN standards. Your school's equipment must
be compatible with Polycom products.
How do we order
and receive textbooks for a distance learning course?
We have made arrangements with the King's College
bookstore to ship textbooks directly to the school districts that
participate in our courses. A school district representative should contact
the King's College bookstore to make arrangements for ordering textbooks.
