The King's College men's basketball team improved its record to10-7 and 3-2 in Freedom Conference play Saturday night with a 93-79 win over Arcadia University at Scandlon Gymnasium. With the loss Aracadia falls to 7-9 and 2-3 in the conference.

After going into halftime with a six point lead, the Monarchs went on a 13-4 scoring run to open the second half.

King's put the game away with a three pointer by senior Jim Welsh and four consecutive foul shots by senior Ryan Nenstiel to stretch its lead to 77-52 with eight minutes left to play. Welsh finished the game with 16 points including three buckets from downtown while Nenstiel added 13 points and three treys as well.

Senior big man John Soboleski led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds shooting 8-10 from the field. Senior point guard Jamie Cousart tallied 13 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Senior Vince Scalzo added eight points, while senior Kofi Dwebeng and Freshman Kevin Conroy contributed seven apiece.

The Monarchs travel to FDU-Florham Saturday February 2 then return home for a rematch with conference leader DeSales University on Wednesday February 6 at 8pm in Scandlon Gymnasium. The men lost to DeSales on February 23d, by two points and look to even the season series and knock the Bulldogs off the top of the conference standings.
