KING'S VOLLEYBALL CELEBRATES HOMECOMING WITH TRI-MEET
SWEEP
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's volleyball team
celebrated Homecoming Weekend by sweeping a tri-march Saturday in
Scandlon Gymnasium.
In its first match, King's defeated William Paterson 3-1, by scores
of 24-30, 30-14, 30-20, 30-18. In its second match, the Lady
Monarchs bested SUNY Institute of Technology 3-0 by scores of 30-22,
30-19, 30-18.
With the win, King's improved to 21-13 on the year.
Against William Paterson (20-11), the Lady Monarchs were led by
Kaitlyn Malshefski with 18 kills and 10 digs while Kat Clerici added
12 kills and three blocks. Danielle Belfanti posted 25 digs with 13
service points while Samantha Page contributed eight kills, Samantha
Garrigues had seven kills, 39 assists, and seven total blocks while
Shannon Ellis chipped in with nine digs.
Against SUNY-IT, Clerici banged out 18 kills with two blocks while
Malshefski added eight kills. Belfanti posted 16 digs while Kelly
Greenway distributed 28 assists with five kills. Page contributed
four kills while Nadya Alboshy chipped in with five digs.
King's will next compete in the Freedom Conference playoffs on
Wednesday when the fourth-seeded lady Monarchs travel to Center
Valley to play top seeded DeSales University at 7:00 p.m. in Billera
Hall.
