KING'S
VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 2-2 AT ONEONTA TOURNEY
ONEONTA. NY --
The King's College women's volleyball team split a pair of games on
Saturday to finish with a 2-2 mark at the Oneonta Invitational
Tournament in Oneonta, NY.
In its Saturday
morning opener, King's coach Bernie Kachinko elected to rest the
vast majority of his starters following a late Friday night finish
as the Lady Monarchs fell to Skidmore College 3-0 by scores of
25-12, 25-11, 25-13. In its second game of the day, he Lady Monarchs
bested Geneseo State 3-1, by scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-22.
Emily Kline led
King's against Skidmore with seven kills and two digs while Kelly
Greenway followed with 16 assists and four digs. Colleen McEntee
registered four kills and four digs while Samantha Gaekler tallied
four kills and one block assist. Katie Kinsman chipped in with 10
digs.
In the win over
Geneseo State, Kat Clerici posted 17 kills with five total blocks
while Kaitlyn Malshefski followed with 15 kills and 16 digs.
Samantha Garrigues tallied 48 assists with three blocks while
Danielle Belfanti registered 28 digs, 16 service points, and two
service aces. Katie Doss contributed 11 kills and 10 digs while
Kline chipped in with eight kills and two blocks.
The Lady Monarchs will be back on the
court Wednesday when they host the visiting Bull Dogs of DeSales
University. Match time is set for 7:00pm
