 KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS FIRST TWO AT ONEONTA
 
   
ONEONTA, NY -- The King's College women's volleyball team splits its first two matches at the Oneonta Invitational Tournament Friday night in Oneonta, NY.

King's lost 3-1 in its first match to host Oneonta by scores of 19-25, 25-20, 17-25, 21-25. IN their second match, the Lady Monarchs outalsted City College of New York 3-2 by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 16-25, 15-25, 15-11.

With the split, King's now stands at 13-4 on the year>

Against Oneonta, Danielle Belfanti had 25 digs while Kaitlyn Malshefski posted 13 kills. Kat Clerici tallied nine kills, and four total blocks while Samantha Garrigues registered 32 assists and six service points. Emily Kline put down six kills with three blocks assists while Katie Doss contributed with seven kills and 13 digs. Shannon Ellis chipped in with seven digs.

Against CCNY, King's started strong, building a 2-0 lead, but was handled in the next two matches to send the contest into a deciding fifth game. Clerici led the way with 11 kills and six total blocks while Malshefski garnered 12 kills and 16 digs. Belfanti added 27 digs and 11 service points while Garrigues dished out 33 assists with seven digs. Kline and Tanya Rabenold contributed eight and five kills respectively while Ellis chipped in with 10 digs.

King's will face Skidmore College Saturday at 11:30 a.m. before learning its next opponent.
