KING'S VOLLEYBALL UPSET BY ARCADIA
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1
verdict to Arcadia University Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium. The
Lady Monarchs lost by scores of 30-24, 30-26, 21-30, 30-26.
With the loss, King's fell to 13-6 overall and 1-2 in Freedom
Conference play. Meanwhile, Arcadia improved to 9-7 and 2-1 in
league play
Kat Clerici paced King's with 15 kills and seven total blocks while
Kaitlyn Malshefski followed with 13 kills and two blocks. Danielle
Belfanti posted 37 digs with 27 service points and four aces while
Samantha Page contributed six kills and one block. Katie Doss
tallied eight kills and 13 digs; Kelly Greenway dished out 39
assists, while Nadya Alboshy totaled 11 digs and 19 service points.
Shannon Ellis chipped in with 14 digs.
King's suffered a major blow before the
match when standout freshman setter/opposite Samanatha Garrigues was
injured during warmups and did not play.
King's will next compete in the Oneonta State University
Invitational Tournament Friday and Saturday in Oneonta, NY.
