KING'S VOLLEYBALL TALLIES TWO MORE WINS
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's women's volleyball team improved to 12-2
on the season when they downed Division II opponent Chestnut Hill
College and Lancaster Bible. King's won in straight sets in both
games.In the win over Chestnut
Hill College (25-11, 25-18, 25-14) younger Lady Monarchs got
valuable game experience. Setter sophomore Kelly Greenway was strong
on the offense, scoring 16 assists. She also recorded 11 service
points. Emily Kline, a sophomore middle hitter, was big up front,
scoring two solo blocks and one block assist. She also scored seven
kills and 11 service points. Collen McEntee, also a sophomore,
played a balanced game, scoring five kills and three digs, and
nailing 10 service points. Outside Hitter Nadya Alboschy recorded
five digs on the day. Freshman Katie Kinsman had nine digs.
In the second match of the day, a win over
Lancaster Bible (25-16, 25-11, 25-13), Samantha Garrigues had a huge
day in the stat book. She recorded four kills, 13 service points and
an impressive 29 assists. Katie Doss and Kaitlyn Malshefski were the
benefactors of the assists, scoring eight and 18 kills respectively.
Doss also earned 14 digs while Malshefski tallied five digs. Libero
Danielle Belfanti had another solid outing, recording 19 digs and
six service points.
The Lady Monarchs are back in action Tuesday, September 23rd
when the travel across town to Wilkes
University to continue conference play. Match time is set for
7:00pm.
