KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS TWO ON RAMAPO OPENING DAY
MAHWAH, NJ -- The King's women's volleyball team defeated SUNY Old
Westbury 3-0 in the first round, but fell 3-0 to City College of New
York in the second round of the Roadrunner Invitational Friday at
Ramapo College, Mahwah, NJ.
King's, which won by scores of 30-18, 30-23, 30-20, improved to
15-10 on the year. Against CCNY, King's fell
30-22, 30-15, 30-9.
In the match against Old Westbury, Dani Belfanti led the way with 31
assists, eight service points and six digs. Samantha Page added nine
kills, 13 service points and four aces. Kaitlin Malshefski
contributed seven kills and 14 service points while Kat Clerici
tallied seven kills. Shannon Ellis chipped in with 16 digs.
King's will face City College of New York in the 8:00 p.m. contest
and will then resume play Saturday morning against an opponent to be
determined.
Against CCNY, Clerici recorded
four kills and two blocks leading the team and Belfanti while
contributed 12 assists and seven digs. Katie Doss led the defense
with eight digs.
King's will face host Ramapo Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
