KING'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS ST. ELIZABETH
WILKES-BARRE - The King's volleyball team prepped for next week's MAC
Freedom Conference playoffs with a 3-0 victory over the College of St.
Elizabeth Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
King's, which won by scores of 30-11, 30-18, 30-18, wrapped up its
regular-season with a record of 19-11.
The Lady Monarchs were led by freshman hitter Kat Clerici with 16
kills and four blocks. Fellow rookie hitter Kaitlyn Malshefski
followed with 13 kills 13 service points and eight digs. Freshman setter
Danielle Belfanti added 20 assists and 10 digs.
Senior
Jessica Luedeman (left) had five kills, six service points and
seven digs in her final match in Scandlon Gym. Freshman Samantha Page
contributed four kills and four digs while sophomore Erin Dugan
chipped in with four ills, nine digs, and 13 service points.
The game will stand as the final home contest for the lady Monarchs,
whose schedule home match on Friday with Rutgers-Camden was canceled
when RCU was beset with several injuries last week and are unable to
field a full team.
King's will open the MAC Freedom Conference playoffs on Wednesday,
November 1 at 7:00 p.m. as the fourth-seeded lady Monarchs will meet
top-seeded University of Scranton in the John Long Center.
