KING'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS ST. ELIZABETH

WILKES-BARRE - The King's volleyball team prepped for next week's MAC Freedom Conference playoffs with a 3-0 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

King's, which won by scores of 30-11, 30-18, 30-18, wrapped up its regular-season with a record of 19-11.

The Lady Monarchs were led by freshman hitter Kat Clerici with 16 kills and four blocks.  Fellow rookie hitter Kaitlyn Malshefski followed with 13 kills 13 service points and eight digs. Freshman setter Danielle Belfanti added 20 assists and 10 digs.

Senior Jessica Luedeman (left) had five kills, six service points and seven digs in her final match in Scandlon Gym. Freshman Samantha Page contributed four kills and four digs while sophomore Erin Dugan chipped in with four ills, nine digs, and 13 service points.

The game will stand as the final home contest for the lady Monarchs, whose schedule home match on Friday with Rutgers-Camden was canceled when RCU was beset with several injuries last week and are unable to field a full team.

King's will open the MAC Freedom Conference playoffs on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. as the fourth-seeded lady Monarchs will meet top-seeded University of Scranton in the John Long Center.
