KING'S VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 5-0 WITH 3-1 WIN
OVER BRYN MAWR
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's
volleyball team overcame a slow start but came on strong to post a 3-1
victory over Bryn Mawr College Thursday in Scandlon Gymnasium. With the
win, King's improved to 5-0 on the year while Bryn Mawr slipped to 1-2.
Bryn Mawr would capture the first game 30-21, but the Lady Monarchs
rallied to win the next three contests 30-19, 30-16, 30-24 to earn the
victory.
Freshman Kaitlyn Malshefski topped the Lady Monarch attack with 18 kills
and 14 dis. Fellow rookie Kat Clerici followed with 14 kills and two
blocks. Senior Jessica Luedeman enjoyed a solid all-around match by
contributing nine kills, 10 digs, and 14 service points. Sophomore
Amanda Breese added eight kills while freshman setter Danielle Belfanti
distributed 40 assists with 17 service points and 14 digs.
King's will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Muhlenberg
College Invitational in Allentown. The Lady Monarchs open with Albright
at 4:00 p.m. before meeting Massachusetts Institute of Technology at
8:00 p.m.
