KING'S VOLLEYBALL OPENS TOURNEY WITH TWO VICTORIES
WILKES-BARRE - The King's volleyball team landed two impressive wins in
their season debut in the King's College Invitational Tournament posting
a 3-0 win against Lincoln, and a 3-0 win against College Misericordia.
King's swept Lincoln posting
scores of 30-16, 30-13, and 30-4. Leading the way for the Lady Monarchs
was freshman Kat Clerici with 16 kills and one solo block. Freshman
Danielle Belfanti added 30 assists. Freshman Samantha Page contributed
with 12 kills, while freshman Kaitlyn Malshefski followed with four
kills. Senior Jessica Luedeman finished with 24 serve points.
King's then took their
second game beating College Misericordia with scores of 30-21, 30-23,
and 30-15. Freshman Danielle Belfanti led the way with 27 assists and
seven digs. Freshman Kat Clerici followed with eight kills and seven
solo blocks. Freshman Shannon Ellis added one dig.
The Lady Monarchs will
finish the tournament Saturday with games with Marywood and Wilkes. The
schedule for day two of the tourney is posted below.
