KING'S VOLLEYBALL WINS OPENER AT MUHLENBERG TOURNEY
ALLENTOWN -- The King's College women's volleyball team defeated Cedar
Crest College 3-0 in the opening round of the Muhlenberg College
Tournament Friday in Allentown.
The Lady Monarchs, however, suffered their first loss of the year by a
3-1 score to Eastern Connecticut.
King's, which defeated Cedar Crest 30-15, 30-23, 30-21 in a dual meet
Thursday night, made quicker work of the Classics on Friday. The Lady
Monarchs won by scores of 30-13, 30-15, 30-14 to improve to 6-0 on the
year.
Senior Michelle Oros, a Crestwood High School product, led the Lady
Monarch attack with 15 kills and nine total blocks, including five solo
blocks. Freshman Katelyn Corgan of Bishop Hoban followed with 14 kills,
five digs, and three aces. Senior Diane Lucas added eight kills and 13
digs while junior setter Jessica Luedeman dished out 44 assists.
Against Eastern Connecticut, King's lost by scores of 30-27, 27-30,
30-23, 30-22 to fall to 6-1 on the year.
Luedeman led the way with 55 assists and 10 digs. Jess Kandefer added 16
kills and 15 digs. Oros continued 14 kills and three blocks while Katie
Carr chipped in with nine kills and 21 digs.
