SCRANTON DOWNS KING'S 3-1

SCRANTON, Pa.The University of Scranton extended its season-long winning streak to 10 matches with a 3-1 victory (30-13, 25-30, 30-25, 30-19) over King’s College in Freedom Conference action Wednesday evening at the John J. Long, S.J., Center.

Sophomore outside hitter Elena DiGrado led King’s, now 10-10 overall and 0-4 in league play, with 14 kills.  junior middle hitter Michelle Oros and junior outside hitter Jessica Kandefer had 13 and 12, respectively. Freshman setter Brittany Enz distributed  23 assists while Dian Lucas chipped in with 10 digs.

Senior outside hitter Marta DeLong led the Royals, now 20-4 overall and 4-0 in the Freedom Conference, with a match-high 22 kills and five digs and junior outside hitter Katie McManus had 14 kills and four digs. Junior setter Cassie Dyer had 59 assists and junior outside hitter Kim McManus and freshman middle blocker Valerie Naranjo combined for 22 kills.

King's travels to face Lancaster Bible at 6:00 p.m.
