KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS TO ADVANCE TO CHAMPIONSHIP
FLIGHT
ONEONTA, NY -- The King's College women's volleyball
team went 1-1 in pool play and advanced to the championship flight of the
Oneonta State University Invitational Tournament Saturday in Oneonta, NY.
King's dropped a 3-2 decision to SUNY-New Paltz in the first round by
scores of 21-30, 30-15, 30-27, 29-31, 15-11. In the second round, the Lady
Monarchs upended regionally-ranked SUNY-Geneseo 3-0 by scores of 30-25,
30-28, 30-22. The three teams all finished with 1-1 marks in pool play but
King's was awarded a spot in the championship flight based on the
tournament tiebreaker of posting a pool-best 5-3 games record.
Jessica Kandefer posted 33 kills with 18 service points on the day while
Michelle Oros added 20 kills and nine blocks. Katie Carr, Diane Lucas, and
Brittany Enz contributed 31, 28, and 27 digs respectively while Jessica
Leudeman distributed 91 assists.
The Lady Monarchs will resume play on Sunday.
