KING'S VOLLEYBALL GAINS BIG 3-1 WIN OVER FDU

MADISON, NJ -- The King's College women's volleyball team picked up a huge victory Tuesday when the Lady Monarchs traveled to Madison, NJ and defeated host FDU-Florham in a crucial MAC Freedom Conference match.

With the win, King's improved to 10-8 overall and 2-1 in conference action. FDU-Florham, a fellow conference playoff contender, fell to 12-5 and 2-1. The win would also give King's a head-to-head tiebreaker advantage in post-season seeding should the teams finish tied at the end of the regular-season.

The Lady Monarchs were led by Jessica McVey with 29 kills, 25 digs, 12 service points, and seven aces. Annie German followed with 19 kills and 19 digs. Lauren Foster distributed 37 assists while Elena DiGrado added 11 kills. Diane Lucas and Katie Carr chipped in with 16 and 14 digs respectively.

King's will next look to defend its championship at the Oneonta Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Oneonta, NY.
