KING'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO LYCOMING, 3-0
WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College women's
volleyball team played well but dropped a 3-0 verdict to Lycoming in a
rematch of the 2002 MAC Freedom Conference championship Wednesday in
Williamsport.
Lycoming, which improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in
conference play, won by scores of 30-28, 33-31, 30-27 to remain in first
place. King's which had defeated Lycoming 3-0 en route the NCAA National
Sweet 16, fell to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in the Freedom Conference.
The Lady Monarchs were paced by senior Jessica McVey
with 14 kills, 15 digs, and three aces. Senior Annie German followed with
12 kills, 15 digs, and five total blocks. Senior setter Lauren Foster
distributed 32 assists with 10 digs. Diane Lucas and Elena DiGrado chipped
in with 11 digs each.
King's will compete in the Penny Fall Classic at
Washington College, Chestertown, Md. on Saturday.
