KING'S VOLLEYBALL RALLIES TO DOWN DICKINSON

ALLENTOWN -- The defending champion King's College women's volleyball overcame a 2-0 deficit to rally for a 3-2 victory over Dickinson College in the opening round of the Buttermaker Tournament at Muhlenberg College in Allentown.

The Lady Monarchs played poorly in dropping the first two games, committing 43 hitting errors while falling 30-22 and 30-27. King's then fell behind in the third game by a 18-9 count before the team began to rally. The Lady Monarchs would come back to post a 30-25 victory, then won the fourth game 30-16. In the deciding fifth game, King's walked away with a 15-6 triumph to remaining unbeaten at 5-0 on the year.

Annie German led King's with 29 kills and 18 digs while Lauren Foster distributed 55 assists. Jessica McVey added 26 digs and 16 kills followed by Jessica Kandefer with 15 service points. Elena DiGrado contributed 14 service points and 21 digs while Katie Carr chipped in with 16 digs.

The tournament will resume Saturday as King's faces Susquehanna at 8:00 p.m. before meeting Brockport State at 2:00 p.m. Should King's win both games, it will advance to the 4:00 p.m. championship game.
