KING'S VOLLEYBALL DOWNS MISERICORDIA IN HOME FINALE
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's
volleyball team prepped for the upcoming MAC Freedom Conference playoffs
as the Lady Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over College Misericordia in
their home finale Friday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
King's, which won by scores of 30-17, 30-23, 30-18,
ended the regular season with a 19-11 record. Misericordia fell to 9-18
with the loss.
The Lady Monarchs were led by senior Annie German
with 17 kills 15 assists and three blocks. Senior Jessica McVey followed
with 12 kills, 32 digs, and eight service aces. In the process, McVey
broke her own school single-season record with 108 aces on the year.
Senior setter Lauren Foster distributed 34 assists and 14 digs. Sophomore
Jessica Kandefer chipped in with seven kills.
The Lady Monarchs will look to defend their MAC
Freedom Conference championship as the fourth-seed when the Lady Monarchs
travel to face top-seeded Lycoming Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
