KING'S VOLLEYBALL CLINCHES SIXTH STRAIGHT PLAYOFF BERTH
WILKES-BARRE The King's College women's volleyball team
clinched its sixth straight MAC Freedom Conference playoff berth as the
Lady Monarchs defeated host Delaware Valley 309 Tuesday in Doylestown.
King's, which won by scores of 30-13, 30-18, 30-9, improved to 18-11
overall and 4-2 in conference play.
Jessica McVey led the team with 15 service points, seven aces, 14 digs,
and 10 kills. Annie German followed with 12 kills while Tricia Parks
added 13 service points. Jessica Luedeman and Lauren Foster
distributed 17 and 14 assists respectively/ Jennifer Hayes had nine
service points while Jessica Kandafer added eight service points.
King's, Scranton, and FDU-Florham all won their final conference matches
on Tuesday to finish in a three-way tie for second-place at 4-2. The
Middle Atlantic Conference will declare the playoff seeding based on a
predetermined tie-breaking procedure which will be announced sometime this
week.
The top four teams in the Freedom Conference gain playoff berths with the
conference champion earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III
National playoffs. Lycoming has secured the top seed based on their 6-0
conference record.
King's will play its regular-season finale at home Friday at 7:00 p.m.
against College Misericordia on Senior Night.
