KING’S VOLLEYBALL ADVANCES TO
CHAMPIONSHIP POOL OF GREEN TERROR INVITATIONAL
WESTMINSTER, MD – The King’s College women’s volleyball team won
its first two matches to advance to the
championship pool of the Green Terror Invitational
Tournament at McDaniel College, Westminster, Md.
In its opening match, the Lady Monarchs defeated Richard Stockton
University 30-18, 30-16, 30-21. In
their second contest, King’s bested Gallaudet University
30-21, 30-25, 30-24.
In the process, the Lady Monarchs improved to 29-0 while setting up its
most important day of the season on
Saturday as it moved on to the championship pool.
King’s, ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic Region, will face Moravian
College, the fourth ranked team in the region
at 9:00 a.m. The Lady Monarchs will
then play Easter, the third-ranked team in the region, at 11:00 a.m.
King’s was led by senior setter Katie Baffone who posted 67 assists,
23 service points, and 16 digs during
the first day of action. Jessica McVey followed
with 35 digs, 23 service points, and 16 kills. Faith O’Dell added 27
kills and 27 digs while Annie German
contributed 13 kills and 12 service points.
Katie Carr posted 20 digs and 16 service points while Jill Leibman had
10 kills and 16 service points.
Stephanie Spencer added 11 kills while Tara Holly
chipped in with 28 digs.
