THREE KING'S PLAYERS EARN ALL-FREEDOM CONFERENCE WOMEN'S TENNIS HONORS

ANNVILLE -- A trio of King's College players have been named to the 2007 All-Freedom Conference Women's Tennis Team, the Middle Atlantic Conferences office announced Wednesday.

Earning first-team honors for King's was senior Kristen Hunter (Annville/Annville-Cleona), while fellow senior Sarah Guza (Hazleton/Hazleton Area) and freshman Jillian Tallarico (Lancaster/Lancaster Catholic) were both second-team choices. The trio helped King's to a school-record 11-4 mark this season, breaking the previous best record of 10-4 in 1994.

Hunter (above) is concluding her third straight season playing number-one singles for the Lady Monarchs and owns an 11-4 singles mark in 2007. She stands at 26-34 for her four-year career as a starter. Hunter and Guza (right) have also teamed up as King's number-one doubles team to register an outstanding 13-2 record in 2007. In singles, Guza plays the number-two position where she has compiled a 10-5 mark this season and is 22-26 for her career.

Tallarico (left) has made an immediate impact as a rookie at King's, sporting a 9-6 record at number-three singles and is also 10-5 at second doubles.

King's will wrap up its dual meet season Thursday with a 3:30 p.m. home match against Baptist Bible College at Kirby Park. The team will then compete at the MAC Individual Championships Friday and Saturday at Lehigh University.
