KING'S TENNIS FALLS TO ALVERNIA 5-4 MINUS TWO STARTERS
READING -- The King's College women's tennis team entered its important
Freedom Conference matchup hoping to overcome the loss of two starters
who were unable to attend the meet due to personal reasons.
Unfortunately for the Lady Monarchs, the team came upo just short as
King's dropped a 5-4 decision to the Crusaders Saturday in Reading.
With the loss, King's slipped to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in Freedom
Conference play while Alvernia slipped to 6-8 and 3-4.
King's, which played without the services of starters Rachel Hoffnagel
and Courtnay Wilson, took a 2-1 lead after doubles. But Alvernia would
capture four of the six singles bouts to walk away with the victory.
