KING'S WOMEN'S TENNIS DOWNS MISERICORDIA, 5-4 TO
IMPROVE TO 4-1 ON THE YEAR
WILKES-BARRE -- Visiting Misericordia University
took a 2-1 lead after doubles but the King's College women's tennis team
won four of the six singles matches to post a 5-4 victory Thursday at
Kirby Park.
With the win, King's won its third straight match while upping its mark
to 4-1. Misericordia, meanwhile, fell to 0-5 on the year.
Kristen Hunter and Sarah Guza were winners in both singles and doubles
for King's. Hunter improved to 5-0 in singles while teaming with Guza to
up their doubles log to 5-0 as well. Jillian Tallarico and Elizabeth
Walpole also added key singles victories to enable King's to post the
comeback victory. Abby Searfoss was a winner in both singles and doubles
for the Cougars.
The Lady Monarchs will travel to face DeSales University Saturday at
1:00 p.m. in their Freedom Conference opener.
